Being the Yes Mom

I've been focusing on being the yes mom...

the one who stoped at the park for an unplanned visit and captured this
precious picture that captures the personality of each boy perfectly...

the who who said yes to making cupcakes that we didn't "need" and made them so happy,
and then friends came for a visit and we had cupcakes to share

The mama who shared two quarters and got these picture perfect smiles, and reminded herself that the creativity of her four year old deserves attention (as he rides the tail)

I love being this yes mom at hotels.

And the oh yes we will keep that huge card board box because it makes 2 perfect beds mama

And the yes, go on and grow a cucumber plant in the middle of the landscaping kind of mom

And the one who says yes you can wear that to town

Yes

Yes

sure

Yes

Yes, ahem (cringe) go on and cut up teeny tiny pieces of paper and sprinkle them all over the living room to decorate our camp. Ok a little honesty needed here...grandma is responsible for all the teeny tiny pieces.
I love how she encouraged all their creativity at her house and then very neatly sent them home with them at the end of the day complete with yarn and other decorative goodies.  It made for a very beautiful campout.

Most importantly, it made for very happy boys who were very proud of their creations...

Sometimes it is easier to say no,
cause we know it might take a little longer,
not really be necessary,
and
 for sure will be messy...

but just think of all we might have missed!

Matthew 7:12 ”So whatever you wish that others would do to you,
do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
