Snow Daze 21

I uploaded several posts last summer (2021) with the intention to go back and write and create posts.
Life is full and God is faithful through all the seasons.
We've been living a lot of life, I've just not been recording it on the blog!

After a long 6 month break from our blog - it's certainly time to get back to it!
And wouldn't you know that it has taken a snow day 2022 to find the time once again.
I open up my drafts to this snow day in Feb 2021!

Looking in on home after a snow has fall gives much peace and thankfulness for the warmth, saftety and peace inside!

First winter without our little utility tractor - Dan had to drive a tractor in from the farm to plow our driveway - he looked a little cold but he said it wasn't too bad!

It was my first winter to be blessed to work remote from home and stay warm with the boys.
The day I was supposed to head into work the roads had been cleared but it started blowing
and we had near white out conditions - back home I headed.

Ninteenaversary || Day 1

We carved out some time to spend together for our Nineteenth Anniversary!

We went to our favorite place.
We tossed around some new exciting places to visit.
But, we settled on our familiar place where we are able to truly relax.

We woke up early on Sunday morning for the drive south
and were rewarded with these views by mid afternoon.
We had long days to enjoy the views, connect with each other
and evenings to celebrate!

We read a lot of good books!

Soaking up the Last of Summer

A few more gems from my phone.
These are more of those everyday moments that really won't look special to others.
These are placed on my blog because we are blog book readers
and those everyday moments are fun to cherish!

This selfie takes the cake for me.
Just a dad showing his son how to change the oil in the van.

And said son watching Grandpa weld.
These farm days are shaping and molding these boys.
And when they show interest (not all days have equal farm interest)
dad and grandpa soak it up.  Love that they take time to shape the boys.
And grandpa took time to help Joe build a birdhouse this summer.
Next up is painting that birdhouse, Joe is looking for the perfect shade of green.
We have had some perfect weather for rounds of PIG
in the driveway. Dad schooled his boy this day.

And days with the pool full are my FAVORITE>
seriously love it when everyone comes to cool off.

And a surprise Birthday Party at work took the cake!
A Baked Potato bar was PERFECT to celebrate birthdays of
Rachel, my pharmacist partner and me!  I really enjoyed it.
And after the potato bar (I worked until 2) we set off on our
Back to School Summer Trip!
We headed east and drove
to destination unknown to the boys.
And I got to read the seed corn book to Dan.
I know, be jealous ladies. it was such a good read.
But, we laughed a lot at the abbreviations and words I did not know.
I felt like I needed to go back to school.
And our first stop was at a chicken place.
We have this knack to try fried chicken places on vacation.
Not mama's things but these boys leave all smiles!
This one rated below Bojangles, but the tea was good. Ha

Dad's Tickle Spot

See where Joe is pointing?
It may not look like it, but that is Joe's Dad's tickle spot.
You see, Joe and his Dad have this routine
where Dan asks Joe to point to his tickle spot
and that tickle spot isn't on Dan, it is on Joe
and
when he touches that spot
he giggles uncontrollably.
And when Joe laughs, Dad laughs, it is hard to avoid.

I don't suppose it tickles that much, but the idea does make him laugh.
A special memory, for sure.

My Farmer. My Valentine

Our February was full of basketball
and
we would not have it any other way.
{It's March now and our boys' basketball is over
and I already miss the runs to practice.}

It will soon be time for baseball practice runs
and then the nights at the baseball fields.

This might be my favorite season in our lives.
And this guy is the one I am glad I get to share it with.

There was no official Valentine's celebration this year...
we might have been a a basketball tournament.
But, there was time to snap a picture before church the next day.
Isn't Mr. Joe good behind the camera?

DH gets annoyed when he turns the camera, I think it is dear.

I love this guy of mine.
But, a reminder like this is always needed.
And, that he extends me the same grace is even better.

And winter is the time that I can con him into a few around the house projects...
or send him a note while I am at work that reads like this...

And he responds with
And then this message came seriously made my day at work
He bought me crates at the antique sale!!
And he paid more than I would have but he did that because he knew I really wanted them.  And I'm secretly glad he did that... Told him it would get him brownie points for quite some time.

Then, he topped that-
He made me a crate from palettes from the farm
Look at this beauty...

This was my project

I am super pumped about how they look!
And
that he still does small things like this for me.
My valentine for 22 years.

Putting up the Tree 2014

A snow in late November put us in the mood for Winter fun!
We knew we were headed to Florida over Thanksgiving
so I broke my rule and we got the tree out the weekend before....

I think it was too early so I wasn't really in the mood, but these boys quickly changed that for me.
They LOVE tradition and reminded me of many

It must have started getting late, we put on our jammies,

Sam and fluffsters.

Graber Family Discing

We headed out to the farm last week,
before all the rain this past week of course!!

We were helping DH disc the field.
I am sure all of us crowded  onto the buddy seat in the cab,
really really helps him farm.
Like really.
And I'm also not sure how much longer we are all going to fit.
I am going to need to size down as my boys size up!!

Grandpa was planing in the field right behind us.

My always willing to slip on his JD boots boy.
Love him.
