LMS Award Day || Sam

We also enjoyed the LMS awards day on the last day of school.
It's special to see how hard the students have worked over the school year.
They had a country theme for the awards and music for the presentations.

Sam was rewarded for Student of the Month - Active Listening.
This one fits him perfectly!

For Outstanding Attendance and Honor Roll and 4 terms

Sam was a part of the 100 pt AR point club and was in the Top 10 for his grade.
He had a quiet way of achieving this...I appreciate his teacher Mrs. Wagoner
who encouraged them to read and earn A/R points prior to recess.

Honor Roll all 4 terms and Perfect/Outstanding attendance

Spell Bowl and Math Bowl

Grandma and Grandpa were happy to support Sam at awards day.

And mom and dad would not have missed it!

Sam was also awarded with Presidental Award for Academic Excellence based on ISTEP and semester grades.

Sam, Mom and Dad are very pleased at your continued effort to do well in school.  You work hard to complete your work during school and seldom complain about work you need to complete at home.
We appreciate how hard you work at school and are proud of you for conducting yourself in a manner that deserved the citizenship award.  You keep doing you, Sam.
Love ya,
 Mom and Dad

LES Award Day || Joe

We enjoyed the LES awards day for Joe on the last morning of school.
Joe was rewarded for his reading this year. He was 3rd place in his grade in AR points.
Mid year he had lost some interest in reading, but he kicked into high gear later in the year.
Happy he was able to find his groove again! 1st place got to be principal for the day and he asked her to appoint him the janitor, tee hee.

And a certificate for spell bowl and math bowl...

Student of the month

High Honors for 4th grade AND for his elementary career

With cousin Drew and Sam after awards.  Sam loves pictures.

Grandpa and Grandma came to support their boys!

And mom and dad, too!

Also Outstanding attendance.

Joe, Mom and Dad appreciate your hard work for these awards.  Your dedication to school and ability to stay focused for school does not go unnoticed.  We admire your enthusiasm for each activity that you attempt. We are proud of your hard work. Love ya Jodeo,
Mom and Dad

We received a call mid week from Mrs Chezam, Joe's principal, to make sure we would be present for
LES awards day...a special phone call meant a special award.
We are very proud of Joe and his overall attitude towards all things he attempts and accomplishes!
He brings energy and positive attitude towards all things he tries.
Love that! He was so very excited to win this award...rewind back 2 years ago
when Drew was selected in 4th grade...he asked me then how Drew earned that.
I had told him and he had remembered since then.
He was very surprised and we loved celebrating with him.

Joe and his friend Olivia or Nonte as he calls her.
These two crack us up, tease each other  - you can see their joy here.
Proud of them being selected for 4th grade!

But then, the surprise was on us...
And you might be able to tell from my photo skills
that when Sam was also selected for 6th grade I was busy clapping
and forgot to get my camera ready, ha!

Cousin Ella was selected for 5th grade, too - excellent!

His goofy grin may look silly to some, but this coming out of my deep voice speaking preteen teen
is a welcome sight for this mama!

To say we are proud of his quiet way of achieving this award is an understatement!
I've said that he finds a quiet way of doing those things before,
so I'm not sure why it still comes as a surprise.
He loves being involved in church and school and rarely complains.
Sam, Mom and Dad are very proud of you for receiving this award!

WB System Upgrade

It's been a big month at work and I've spent a lot of time there!
I took this guy with me one round so I didn't take away from his time.
He loves the IT room, what 10 year old wouldn't ?!?
He doesn't get to touch anything, was helping me refill ink pens, ha!

We upgraded our software (and hardware) - the boxes laid around for a few days
as we finished our online training and our anxieties were rising!!!
We've all been on this system for years and weren't sure what the changes would bring!
I wasn't sure what I was capable of, I've been on this system for 17 years, gasp.
I already like the new system, I just wish I knew what button to push, ha!

I thought a little spirit week was in order in anticipation!

Sweet Treat Tuesday...

I stopped by Monday night when conversion was getting started and things were on track.
Arrived early on Tuesday at 7am and we were rolling. We functioned all day Tues with a few hiccups! But, I needed to wash the dishes for therapy. I washed them at work and at home.
It's good therapy I tell ya!

Truth!

By Thursday, we enjoyed a lunch together!

And Friday was our first day without trainers and I only called help desk 2 times, yippee!

Renaee brought sweet treats and Allison brought us special ink pens too!

We are a couple weeks in and doing great. I am so happy with how our team has approached this transition!  It has been a challenge for sure - going from knowing just everything we needed to know to nearly nothing overnight and still serving each and every customer with no down time - and with a smile! We will continue to have some pains over the next few weeks, but the new system is an upgrade and I appreciate all it offers us!

My oh My the Month of May - Sam

My Oh My the Month of May!
Sam has also had a busy May -  it started off with a special birthday at the end of April!

And then, we woke up early in the morning with a stomach bug.
And this guy is hardly EVER down, it's rough to see your boy feeling bad.

We Sat like this for several hours 3-6am for certain
and I went to get ready for work, we called Grandma
and she took the next shift.  He was feeling better by lunch
so we were relieved.

My kid who is not the most observant of them all has latched onto the quarter pops
from IGA.  He LOVES to stop and get one (and sometimes sneaks two) for Joe's baseball games.
He thinks he is pulling one over on me, but I agree since it's cheaper than ballgame snacks, haha.
I think it is funny that his favorite flavors are orange and grape, learned to love them at the farm.

Always giving Graham his attention, love that.

And teasing Graham's dad, Noah.  These two, tee hee.
We discovered that Sam is VERY close to Noah's height.

I live for that sweet smile.
I get that when he's headed to the car at pickup at he spots me.
Love it.
I'm trying to soak up these moments, every single one of them.

I am very proud of Sam for trying a new sport.
Golf was pretty challenging, he was always willing to go and looked forward to practice.
We struggled with a couple of meets and it made him dig deep!
We talked after the last meet about Golf being so very hard because you are solely responsible
for your performance.  I also told him that this can be very rewarding if it turns out right.
Rides home gave us plenty to discuss.

And his last band concert.  These kids improved greatly this year.
I enjoy band and am sad that he has chosen not to reenroll next year.
But, alas, it is his decision and he wants to give art a chance next year.

Funny addition of a comical Mr. Walton

This is also Mrs. Graves last year at LHS, she will be greatly missed.

Sam's class had a special kite designing day - he told me about their
design and the colors they used, I figured this meant he was pleased with it.

He does not like cold water.  He took forever getting in just to avoid getting too wet. Ha

Look at these boys on their last day of school.
Those smiles.  Love!

First day of 4th and 6th to the last day!
