Graber Christmas 2021

The Graber Christmas always involves some sort of card game.  This year it was 7 up, I believe.
We've played this game a lot this year - and there are different rules you can play by so we've tried a several of them.  It's a competitive bunch.

And then we recreated this photo from our first Christmas with Tyson and Shaylee.
Goodness that seems like it was just yesterday.

Christmas Candy Making with Grandma

The boys asked about making candy at Grandma's this year.
She gathered the items for some of their favorites.
Sam isn't a huge chocolate fan, so we even got stuff to make rock candy!

Giving Thanks 🙏

We were able to have a small Thanksgiving celebration with the Grabers!  We gathered at Grandmas
and she cooked a delicious meal.  We had a relaxing day and fun with cousins.  Sam loves to tease
Shaylee - he would be sweet with a sister!

He prefers to torment Joe.  Always.  And Joe generally begs for more...

This Thanksgiving, much more than others, we were so thankful to be gathered with family.

Farm Fancy

On our Graber Hill trip,
I noticed that the Kenworth semi was practically sporting
Vanity Plates.

Looks like the word FANCY to me!
So the ol Kenworth got a new name.

FARM FANCY she is!

I spotted my farmer talking the the Co-Op gas man, who just happens
to be my nephew Cole's wife's dad.
It's a small town you know!
He makes several trips to the farm (and others) during farm
season bringing gas to keep the combines and big rigs running!

Those Harvest Skies.

Dan was planning to run late one night,
so I ran him out a drink and sandwich.
I was rewarded for my trip.
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=11hgwomWnwQvzMR7gVs0T8jixPeszUDhX
It was the most beautiful sky. Dan's mom and had a funeral
and the field looked like a big boy playing farm.
Dan was running by himself in the combine and he had tractors
and wagons spread out in the field to unload into.
I chuckled a little, but hey it worked!

Graber Hill Harvest 2020

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1AxF9QzMYlJGiMIsAjK4LHyyXwaKzgorv
We spent a Saturday afternoon at the farm.
Shannon's sunflowers were beautiful for our visit!

And they were farming right across the road at the Cropp (now Graber) place.

Joe and Tyson helped Grandpa get the dryer ready.

The windmill is always a staple around the farm.
It makes a distinct charming sound as the wind takes it around that can only
be found at Graber Hill.

The old M had a big job this year.
It was powered up to run the auger into the grain bin.
Combine in the field to Auger wagon then Auger wagon back to the farm
to the grain cart then open the grain cart door and auger up into the bin....pfew.

Grandpa was proud of that ol M working hard - it was Grandpa Great's first tractor.

Joe and I spent some time cleaning up the tractor.
Joe's tractor cleaning at your service.
I could tell he had done it before, he was telling me what to do next!

My farmer and my boy are in that cab.
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1YB8-bB9k_GNhhbwHptbqOVG6BKHgVv97
And I had to get a ride this fall.  I haven't missed a planting ride or harvest ride, yet!
It's like a mini date.
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1EoLAsZc_-Qa3xxek1epHqd4SXFT_kiw4
And unloading on the go is fun (and nerve wracking) to watch!
