Our Christmas 🎄 2020

Christmas 2020.
What fun memories, especially after year of restricted gatherings.
Our families both chose to gather and many others did as well.
Covid took away much, but reinforced the importance of our family connections!

Morgan and Ethan's new home was a beautiful setting for our gathering.
So thankful for her desire to host our crew!

Jewelry ReLoved!

We've been planning this awesome craft using my mom's old jewelry!
These boxes are a treasure for me for certain.
But, wouldn't they be more of a treasure if they could be enjoyed!

My mom was uber organized, and she loved her jewelry - this is how she divided her stuff, by color.
I loved looking thru her drawers in high school to see if she had something that would complete my outfit. She had a wall of necklaces but didn't care for bracelets.  I definitely got her love for jewelry and so did Blake!

And my dad's box.  This circa 80s stuff makes me giggle
and brings back amazing memories of who my dad was.

So I began seeing vintage re purposed jewelry on Pinterest and got googled eyed!
I wanted to share this with everyone.

Here was a rough draft a few weeks ago. But after, I was finished with it I decided to go a different direction!

And I loved this one I LOVED.

And I started working on that by pulling pieces out of the treasure boxes.

And then I found my mom's signature watch and knew I had to use the band for arms.

Here is my complete creation.
I found the necklace in mom's box and the key in dad's box.
The bottom pocket watch is likely Grandpa Walkers, the middle watch was dad's and the top was mom's.

Saturday afternoon worked for everyone else to come and make their creations.
Chris was able to also bring her mom's jewelry for she and Blake and Morgan to use.

So this was not a tidy process. Tee hee.

Those 80s tho!

Blake chose a Q for Miss Quinn's room! And used a mix of mom's jewelry, her Grandma's jewelry and some buttons.

Morgan chose to make this beauty!

Christine made a jewel tone wreath and the background was an old velvet blazer
of my mom's!

Morgan also made this super neat flag. The army buttons were my Grandpa Summers
and the bullet was in dad's box.  The pearls are mostly her Grandma's.

And I loved the project but treasured the quality time the most!

Creating Cousins

My niece Morgan and her Husband had a big announcement over Thanksgiving...

And of course we are extremely excited because that means
these 2 sisters are both adding to our family.
We are praying for God's protection and plan as we expect
babies in January and June this year (and a wedding in October)
Love!

What a year of blessings for our family, prayers for these
two as they add a new baby to their lives!!

Valley Wine and Spirit Band

Dan and I enjoyed a fun date night a few weeks ago!
Our nephew Ethan's band was playing at a coffee shop at West Baden - from 6-8pm,
We signed up for that, I mean we could hang during those hours, right!?!

He played at a little coffee/bagel shop across from West Baden.
Very neat little place, loved the atmosphere.
We played board games while they played and enjoyed some delicious drinks.

I might have posted this ridiculous picture on Instagram.
Tee hee
But seriously I love and appreciate our family and supporting their talents!

Most of all we got to spend some great time with Morgan and some of Ethan's family
and Scott and Christine, we had dinner at Brick Street after!
Dan and I played Mancala until he finally won = it was a few games just for the record.

FaceTime Across Town

These type of night made me smile.
My nieces called me from across town
and I was able to face time and see this sweet boy.
A night made.

Morgy put him in the pumpkin decoration

Graham was eating it up, but look at my ridiculous
expressions trying to get him to smile. Ha

My people, man I love them.

Patti and Mr. Bill's, KY

This place needs it's own Zip Code, so I just created that title!
We checked into our overnight hotel and found them ready for Christmas.
Their staff's spirits were just as friendly and they had warm cookies and popcorn for afternoon snack!

Relaxed a bit and headed to the restaurant for our reservations
and I wanted this picture and that but I got this, the back of them.
When food is ahead, there is not a detour for 3 guys.

But, then checked in with food certain in the future,
they stopped for a couple pics for mom.

Joe the arsty photog turns his camera when he takes shots, love it.

I waited to book our weekend until Christmas decor was up and it did not disappoint.
This small alcove in the restaurant has 6 trees!

Gorgeous decor and the wait staff was so prompt, our tea in mason jars
never ran dry!
Most people come for the 2 in thick pork chop and it also did not disappoint!
Sam and It shared a steak and shrimp special, he wanted those apples, also a favorite of his.
A bread baked in a flower pot with homemade strawberry butter, this restaurant was at the top for Sam.

He enjoyed the Christmas lights a lot.  He kept asking to go see this and take that picture.
Joe and dad joined us after they put our leftovers in the van!

Then it was time for the Badgett Playhouse producation,
excellent.  We were not sure what it would be like, but it was VERY enjoyable.

This number about the grinch was very funny!

And keeping it real, this is what it looks like riding home with a  preteen boy.
He found it VERY funny!

Love the weekend with my little family, thanks Mrs. Jones!
