Time Spent with Grandpa Great

Time spent with Grandpa Great is time well spent.

Tonight we enjoyed some of that time.

It was such a simple evening.  No planning but we are always welcome there.

He always smiles when we come, doesn't say a lot but it is clear that

he likes people to come visit.

We picked up pizza and breadsticks and he had iced tea ready.

Iced tea tastes best at Grandpa Greats.

and

Uno is the best game ever to play at his house, too.

And we finished the evening enjoying Cardinals baseball

Time well spent indeed.

First Swim 12

Today, was our first swim of the summer!

The mood was light,

the sun was warm,

the water was chilly,

Blake is home for the whole summer,

friends came (kia,ML and Sydnee, Allison and Chris) but I had put my camera away,

chicken from the grill and homemade mac and cheese,

perfect.summer.evening.

I wanna bottle this up and pour it out over the whole summer!

Our flowers

Somewhere during my childhood I gained a love for planting,

caring for, and cultivating flowers.  

I know my mom always took me to the greenhouses and I helped

her care for her flowers, too.

My boys both love to help me with flowers.

I love that.

I want to teach them all that I know (albeit not so much)

and hopefully with some trial and error we will learn some new things together!

I was so under the weather last week

and just working with these flowers one evening

sure made me feel better.

Like these begonias, I've never grown them before, but

it is what Sam and Joe chose, so we will learn about them together

And you can't beat that pretty peach and white combo~

Sam really wanted to plant some veges, so we scrapped back our mulch

and planted some cucumbers, we will see!

Caught some sweet cousin love...Blake just finished her last week

of her freshman year of college!  Love it! So proud of her.
