Celebrating Eight!

Christmas Day morning we took special time to celebrate our Special Boy's 8th birthday.
DH had doughnuts ready and I shaped them into an eight.

We sand and blew out candles.
We talked about how lucky that he shares a birthday with Jesus.
He agreed, all smiles.

We opened cards from mom and dad and Aunt Peggy

We celebrated later in the week too!  Friday night we had pizza to celebrate our birthday boy.
Grandma made his request a Nike cake, and she decorated it in Lions colors!

I think he was proud.

We sang to him, got a little shy so he looked to cousin Drew

 Jaelyn and her cousin

We played some minute to win it games...big fun!
See the big kids in the back ground waiting for their turn...they were planning....

She blew the competition out of the water, lol

And many took turns trying to shake ping pong balls out of boxes tied to the backside.

Hahaha, lots of laughs!!

Puzzles from cereal boxes

And some presents for the birthday boy

A fun game of LIFE

Enjoying a present Angry Birds Go!
So Blessed by our sweet 8 year old!

Christmas Day Craft

This Christmas brought a lot of art supplies for the kids.
They all like to draw/create...so we did a fun impromptu Christmas day craft.

We used plain paper, painters tape and crayons, markers for oil pastels...kids choice :)

Taped off each of their names and they colored all the area right over the blue tape, then we peeled back the tape.

Christmas Day - Our two dear families

We spent Christmas day with our two dear families.
Brunch with my brothers and their family and my Aunt Polly and Chris's mama
and onto Dan's parents in the afternoon.

Isn't it rushed, some might say.
I really wouldn't have it any other way.
The people we hold most dear all wrapped into one day!

We had  our traditional ham, breakfast casserole and pancake meal at my brothers, enjoyed each other, traded gifts and played some games.

We held a plate on our head while Blake told us what to draw

provided lots of concentration, then giggles!

And then we played several rounds of 7upHeads up...more giggles
especially when the guys from the living room would sneak a tap in and confuse
everyone!

Of course there was some of this...always is.
Scott may have a time doing this when they are 18, but he better be prepared.
They always come back for more.

We made to Grandma and Grandpa's in the afternoon.
We read the Christmas story and enjoyed exchanging presents
and ate appetizers

Grandma got Grandpa overalls and he was loving them.

Blessed Christmas Day for certain!
