Happy New Year 2014

We had a fun New Year's Eve with some friends and their kiddos!
We enjoyed dinner out at Gasthof, boys love it for ice cream and cookies!
We knew it was a place we could get in with our group without a wait!
We came back home and just hung out for the evening,
did some sand art.

We go to church with Greg and Lela and were youth sponsors with them so
we always have much to talk about.
We made it up to midnight for the first time in a few years, LOL.

All the boys kept saying was, I thought we were going to see a ball drop.
I think it was a little anti climatic for them, ha!

Christmas Break Part 1

Christmas Break was just what these boys needed!
We practiced our artist skills.
Sam was thrilled with this artist set that we got him for his birthday.
He has been creating away.

Joe and I got out one of our drawing books and he made this tiger.
He was better than mine, so I will just show you that, lol

And we had some baby visitors, Anniston was really happy even though it doesn't look like it here

And even though I didn't take this photo, it is appropriate cause there was some TV watching, ha

And much progress on the basement!!! Yeah.  I learned how to run the saw, excellent stress releaser!!

And there may or may not have been a day where they boys wore jammies all day
and played with old familiar toys. Love that

This day was superhero vs dinosaurs.

The Paper Chain

In 20 years,
who are we kidding...in 5 years I want to remember this chain.
DH was home with the boy a lot over break.
It is hard for me to leave home with my family there.
But, I am also so thankful that he is able to be there with them.
We, as a team, are present for the boys, that cannot be replaced.
I am so proud of this chain because it was done without me home.
Suffice it to say, I love to craft with the boys.
It was a Saturday early in December and the boys asked to craft, but I was headed to work.
I got out these paper strips and told the boys to make me a chain for the tree.

I came home and it was finished, and there was one on our main tree, in their bedroom across the closet (a little impractical), and on our Guatemala tree...
And they were imperfectly perfect.
Love them, and proud of the  independence they are gaining!
