Pastor Greg allowed us to come set up the reception hall on
Wednesday night after their kids program was done!
We had tons of help available from family to wedding party and friends!
Our Wednesday night goal was to get the table and chairs set up for the reception!
A bonus was moving all the stuff from my basement to the hall so we could get
started early Thursday...AND we strung the white paper lanterns!!
Noah apparently had a GOAL of his own!
We also put all the chair covers on!
We had a slight panic mode when I thought we didn't have enough 8 ft tables
but DH talked me through it and became my human calculator
and by using some 6 ft tables it came out just right!!
We chose to push 2 8ft tables together to seat 12.
We also used some 6ft tables pushed together that would seat 10.
We like this arrangements because
1. It is great for conversation
2. Something a little different
3. Less centerpieces ;)
Mama Christine, Sis Morgan, Aunt Susan, Aunt Jill, Great Aunt Peg, Mama Lois and myself gathered at 8am on Thursday and worked all day to create the gold and navy wedding creation!
We took a break at noon for some Dairy Master...and sent pictures to the Bride who was stuck at work!
We were bragging a bit about the special sauce...
We decided to do a focal point in this corner to serve as their gift area..
This was a tip from the great Jolene (our local AMAZING) wedding decorator.
We met with her for some tips a couple times and to go over a list of things we wanted to rent.
She was so sweet to us!
More on that area later!!
Sis Morgan Ann in her table skirt!
By the time Blake came at 4pm we were about 90% done.
I had some things I WANTED to change, but we were feeling pretty satisfied with our progress!!
We all had few other plans for Friday, some errands and nails of course!!
We did finish a few things on Friday (organized the piles of things in the storage room, ha)
Hung some items that fell, made plans for the chip bar, but then we enjoyed lunch
and nails and picked up kids from school and got ready for REHEARSAL
Saturday morning while the bridal party was getting hair and nails done
I returned to the church to put out the baby's breath.
I added it to the cake, around the unity candle, tucked into the pew bows,
and into the small vases on the reception tables.
I had some left over so I added a couple bouquets in the church.
We had Blake's wedding cake made by a local baker, Lisa,
It was simple and just what Blake wanted!
and we served cakes made by DH's mama and Jill's mama.
While I was there I found Blake's Aunt Brenda and Uncle Johnny
making lemonade and tea for the reception!
And her dad and brother engineering a fix for our glitter marquee letters!
