Hoosiers in the NIT

A few weeks ago our beloved Hoosiers did not make the big dance or NCAA tournament.
They did land a spot on the NIT (National Invitational Tournament) - I mention this for later in the post.  DH saw they had tickets for $20 with open seating on a Tuesday night that I was off!
We arrived in time to get seats just a few rows above the ground level area.

Sam actually got to go twice that week (once with Grandpa) and this was his snap from that trip.

We were there early so we walked around and saw Assembly Hall and the gift shop.
Sam did not want to buy anything...Joe got a new baseball shirt for the Hoosiers.

The old gym floor that was taken up the year Dan and I graduated high school (1994).

The band was great, we were right beside them.

The flags are one of my favorite parts.

We also enjoyed the cheerleaders from IU, very talented.

This smile is pretty key - we are a pretty big IU fan family.
But this guy has big interest in Purdue.  He's been claiming them as his favorite team.
He wasn't smiling at the beginning of the evening, you know cause Purdue.
He kept telling us NIT meant not in tournament, ha.

He ended up enjoying the night a lot, we all did.
The Hoosiers pulled out a big win and made it to the next round!
But, this might be his last Hoosiers shirt, time will tell!

And and updated picture just a week later, he spent his own money
on his Purdue gear and he and that hat have been inseparable.
