North West Adventure || Stanley Park and Grandville Island

Our adventures in Canada continued on with a visit to Stanley Park in Vancouver.
It's an breathtakingly beautiful 1,000 acre park on Burrard Inlet.
Our destination was the sea wall and it did not disappoint.
There were SO MANY bicyclists, walkers, runners and sightseers packed
into a scenic area - all the stars aligned and we found parking spots all day
this day and that was a feat in itself!

The giant barges were dotted all over  the inlet.

Jumping down the seawall into the rocky sea area below.
This area is wet on high tide so it was very slippery.

And then we made it to Granville Island, it was a VERY POPULAR Sunday destination.
We weren't counting on finding a parking spot, really thought we might make
a very SLOW loop thru the Island right back out.
But, half way around the loop we spotted a tiny spot and Dan fit the van right into the hole!

We walked the Island a bit (saw the Hotel we looked at staying in if we had not gone to Orcas) saw lots of neat shops but I must admit we were all on a mission to find lunch.
It did not disappoint !

We found an area that was something like the Public Market in Seattle.
We all chose our food!

And then we saved room for the amazing desserts from the bakery within the public market.
We sat waterside and watched the boats come and go.

We crossed over that bridge to come onto the Island

We really enjoyed Grandville Island, could have spent much more time there!
We headed back home and did our best to predict which border crossing would have
the best times, but we waited about 1.5 hours - eeks!

But, we crossed back and were asked practically zero questions!

We officially made it to Canada!
