A crowded Shedd

So it rained today in Chicago, just where we and thousands of others were headed. I mean thousands...and they all came to the Shedd Aquarium today with us. We rode the train in from Dune Park and the boys loved this! We had a great time and excuse the mess of organization on the photos...guess you can figure out the sequence for yourself...

I'll give you a hint...this was the way home.

And yes, this was Joe...wired to the max. He was growling at the lady behind us on the train.

Poor Joey, we were all soaked by the time we got into Shedd. We finally made it to Shedd to find a line a least a 1/2 mile (no joking) in the rain. We had no umbrella, but there were no complaints from the sweet boys. I just prayed and said, OK, God not sure what you are trying to teach us here, but I am ready. In the next moment, a man shouts that strollers enter thru another entrance. And praise Jesus, it was a much shorter line! When we left the line was still there...you would have thought this place was free?!? Great exhibits though. The dolphins were very active and were our favorite. Also the carribean reef!

And we are off...

Ok, this kid totally cracks us up!

And lets just say he doesn't ride as well as his older brother. This 5 hour trip is our longest, and might be for awhile.

Why so many pics of Joe? Well, Sam is so content to watch his video or just look out the window (seriously) that he pretty much looks like this the entire trip.
This trip the question was: Are we going to ride a train?
Sam: Mama
Mama: Yes Sam
Sam: Are we going to ride a train.
Mama: Yes Sam.
Sam: Tonight?
Mama: No
Sam: Aaaahhhrrrghhpppffffwwwww. Can we ride a train?
Mama: Yes Sam
Sam: Daddy, do you want to ride the train?
Daddy: Yes Sam
Sam: Tonight?....what do you say to that????

And then Joe got the map out and began directing the trip and his shirt - backseat driver came very true.

And then we saw these things around Borden, IN. I am going to look these up, there were hundreds of them. I am sure they were for energy, interesting to me nonetheless!

You mean to tell me that we drove 5 hours and we are still in Indiana? How long can a state really be????

Sam has girl cousins.

Do you see what I mean?

Joe had one finger painted, I figure that is all he would sit still for...

We are headed to Indiana Dunes for the weekend to meet our good friends the Riedesels'. Isa was Sam's foster sister is Guatemala and we have enjoyed keeping in contact with them ever since, can't wait for them to see each other again!
