Memorial Day 2011

Our Memorial Day looked like this.
It was sizzling hot -around 90

365. Week ? 22 or so...

365.  I skipped a few...life got full!  So let's get back on track!
365. Week 22 - Woke up at 3am to hear this small kitty outside our window.
Our big kitty Mala was doing his best to intimidate this fellow.
So I put Mala in our garage-this guy was still there in the am.
I couldn't bear Mala hurting him, so I took him to work.
I figured out a better solution at work and awesome Allison
made better arrangements at lunch.

W22.D2 - Softball sectional game with Shoals. {yes, Kia, Shoals...}
Lions win!

Sam played Tball too!

W22.D3 - My superheros

W22.D4 - day off went to meet DH for lunch
Our view on the way home.
So peaceful this buggy carried a mom and 2 kids in the front seat
and 4 kids cuddled in the back

W22.D5 - Graduation Celebrations!

W22. D6 - Sectional Champions!

W22.D7 - Summertime means it is time for this!

Sectional Champs!

Radio interview makes her a celeb!!

WOW!  24 hours
made Blake a high school gradute and
softball sectional champ!!

Today we got to watch this team celebrate a hard fought
9-3 victory!

Loved watching Blake prepare to smash a ball to the fence for
double!

And Miss Mo and her friend Megan awesome scorekeepers!

We tried to get a fun picture but we all fell over...LOL!

So we sat right down!

Our 2011 Graduate

We are so proud of our 2011 graduate.
We enjoyed her graduation from LHS last night
watching her and her best friends of 13 years walk
across that long stage to receive their diploma!

As a class officer, she gave a great speech on "R"eality.
She had rehearsed and like the other speeches they were flawless!
I realized that it was on this gym floor 18 years ago that I was rehearsing
with the band for graduation that year...
they pulled me aside and said that my mom had left school
to take Chris to the hospital to have BLAKE!  How cool is that!

These two boys were proud of Miss Blake

Her proud brother and sister

Joe's very special present

Some proud parents!

And some sweet friends!

What a wonderful spirit filled night to celebrate Miss Blake Martina!
We are so proud of you!

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Tonight for dinner these 2 sillies drug their beach chairs outside
while DH grilled us some chicken to go with
our Oven Roasted Potatoes

I started with these yummy potatoes
called fingerlings.
Seriously thinking back, I am not sure if  I felt bad for them
our thought they would somehow be better than a normal potatoe.
I mean let's get real, likely these potatoes are the runts
that they couldn't put in a big bag of potatoes.
Nonetheless, I got home with them {probably over priced, too - uh!}

Just need the ingredients you see here
Slice potatoes into quarters
bake 40 minutes at 400 degrees.

They were yum!  Sam and Joe liked them too
Since we called them french fries and all!

Were perfect for grilled chicken!

Safe Cover

Last night we found ourselves taking cover again.
We used our Power Outage Kit
More storms
More tornado warnings
but last night we took cover with a little more
conviction because
my dear sisterinlaw Jill
avoided a very serious accident on her way home from work
Monday.
A tree came down on her SUV, crushed the front end
flipped over the top and slammed down on the rear end.
At full speed.
I cannot imagine how that must have felt
I can only say that we are so thankful
that she is here with us and walked away

I must admit that I enjoy a nice steady rain
and even a booming storm {if I am at home}
but we have had our fair share of Indiana storms this
spring, I would just assume that they pass on thru!

Eli's Elmo Bday

Sam and Joe and I drove to Indy last Saturday
to celebrate this special boy's 2nd birthday!
Seems like yesterday that we traveled
to meet him after he was born!

His mama made homemade playdough and it was hit!
They fed cookie monster for a long time!

What a great day!
We are hoping they come stay with us in a couple of weeks
{hint hint}

Grad Favors 2011

Had some fun making these sweet treats!

Reese Cups are Blake's favorite!

2x2 squares and some gold stamps and glue!

And some smarties for our smartie.

Found both ideas on the internet, adapted them to fit our style!!
