Gander Hill Sledding Hill!

We went to Dan's brothers yesterday for a sledding party
at their house, Gander Hill!

We laughed so much all afternoon.  DH is still under the weather, he drove us but stayed inside:{
The boys and I never got our snow packed enough to sled like this.  We were flying down the hill!

There goes Aunt Shannon!

My favorite was at the end when Sam and Joe piled on top of me and we all went down
together.  We laughed so hard!  Great snowy times!

Snow Round Two!!

Unfortunately, our past 2 weeks have been defined by this..off and on.
It started with me...Sun/Mon before Christmas with stomach flu
and then Sam had it by Thurs...then we are pretty good for Christmas
but by the next day DH had a respiratory bug and so did Joey D plus pink eye,
then Joey D had a belly issue on thurs and DH came home from work
to care for him, now DH has the full on flu and is bed again this morning...
Boo!  Winter yuckies GO Away!

But we woke up to more snow (total 12-14 inches) on Saturday 12.29.12, mama had to work again
and DH wasn't feeling well, but I told the boys when I got home we would play again!

So we did!  It looks like it was super cold and nighttime, but it was afternoon about 4pm, no sunshine, I guess that is why my flash was firing!?!

We walked over the see the pond and realized just how deep the snow really was!

We tried to sled but it was so deep the sleds wouldn't budge so we walked down the get the mail

And around to the back yard~

Enjoying the white stuff 2012!

The Epic Snowball Fight

It started like this.  And Sam lazily laid down below the ledge and began
eating snow, not expecting a snow ball fight to ensue...

But Joe had other plans, sneaking up on big bro

And launching his giant snowball in return

And then scurrying and giggling and panicking as he climbed back up the hill,
I want to always remember those squeals he made...proud of himself but in fear of what was coming...LOL

Because the peace did not last for long...

And the battle of the day was on!

Love them.  Love that they play better with each other that anyone else.
I hope we can continue to foster this bond.

Snow Scenery

This snow certainly left everything looking picture perfect.
It was the kind of snow that blew and stuck to make the windows look frosted
and perfect from the inside.

It was the kind that stuck on every branch and made the woods look inviting
and highlighted the boys new colorful birdhouse.

The kind that made our otherwise bleak wintery yard look magical

And perfectly accented our Christmas decor.
So glad that I have my mom's old sled and dad's pond iceskates

And it is now obvious why the 3 wisemen are depicted carrying their gifts so high in the air
that poor first wiseman really took the brunt of this storm!

And this snow made us thankful for the tractor to clear our way out

Ecclesiastics 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time...

Forecast: Blizzard 2012

12.26.12
We woke up from a wonderful Christmas day to a winter wonderland.
I was really anticipating having a relaxing day off, but also knew there was a forecast
for a blizzard, and that would mean that I would be working:(
I heard from my boss first thing and he told me it was my call on when to go in,
Dan's work was closed so we could bundle up the boys and he could take me in,
but we need to wait until the plows ran on our county roads.
I ended up making in in around 1130 but before I headed in, we
went outside for a play in the blizzard snow of 2012.

It was picture perfect, still snowing a bit when we trekked outside

It was perfect packable snow and I didn't even think of building a snowman until it was time for
me to come in and get ready for work, boo.  Don't worry we threw plenty of snowballs.
Some of us, ahem, Sam have outgrown our snow gear once again. So big man squeezed into his overalls
but needed mama's boots.  I remember buying these 2 years ago and wanting the pink ones really bad, but I opted for cream since I was the mama of 2 boys, figuring that years from then we might need a pair of boots in a pinch...little did I know it would only be two years, ha!

Spidey was all set because we have Drew and Sam's hand me downs!

Neither boy minded when they landed face down, I have some snow eaters!

I LOVE playing in the snow.  I seriously look forward to it!  Much fun in the white stuff!
