His coaches this year Gabe and Dylan were fun with the boys and played put-out with them during the 8th grade game 1/2 time.  Boys always raced out to the floor to get the most time playing.  It was fun hearing them "talk smack"

Joe often gets paired up with someone a bit larger than he is but he doesn't seem to mind.

Those driveway hours with his bigger brother help both of them.

At a tournament in Evansville, the team had a really great run and won.  Joe made some friends from one of the local team and their coach and they were cheering for him as he played.  Fun memories.  

15 Anos

Our first born son is 15 Anos.

He started Spanish this year and really enjoys it, it seems he is also pretty good at it. 

I found a XL blanket - this has been a favorite ever since, he keeps it with him always!  

A little project for school (cell model) He did a really cool job on this.  Loved seeing his plan come to life

and 

A typical look for his after school home work or possibly an elearning day.  

Christmas Morn 2021

We had a simple Christmas morning.

It was not rushed.

We didn't wake super early or over do the gifts.

I still love stockings, so they were full!

Blake made christmas tree cinnamon rolls so I stole her picture.

We made B&G here, super slow morning at home soaking up our holiday.

We awoke to a thin layer of snow.  Perfect for Christmas morn.

We had time for a game of Tripoly - we played this as a kid, sent a picture to my brothers to jog their memory.  

Thankful for a day to focus on our savior and our family.  

We also took time to celebrate our birthday boy.  

Christmas Eve

Reflecting on our Christmas eve brings me a lot of joy.

We had a really great family day.

It was a start of a new season having Christmas eve off.  

We also didn't have plan at all this day since our traditional Walker family gathering was

moved this year. 

Boys wanted to make gingerbread houses and each picked out a kit.  This was

and epic creation.  We spent a good LONG while creating.

Joe had a mini breakdown and dad had to come to the rescue (of the house and the attitude both) tee hee

We were having so much fun that we got some regular cardboard and supplies from the cabinet and made our own creative creations.  Obviously, I would choose a beach theme!  

It came with an epic mess.  

Sam made a golf clubhouse with a green, sand trap and water feature. 

I had time to set the table for our Christmas morning breakfast 

We ended up at Will and Jill's for Christmas eve even though we had already gathered for our official time together.  Sam created a craps table (hand drawn) during COVID so we took it and boys had fun learning the rules.

We celebrate Sam's 15th birthday (it was Jill's birthday and Will's on 26th) with a grandma cake, yum!

When you tell a boy to smile.

Capturing one of those between the busy moments of joy. 

Certain at least one of the boys, if not both had a game this night - 

quick sandwich night before we headed back out the door.

When you tell a boy to smile,

your might get a bear hug.  

That bear hug might actually be a choke hold

That choke hold might make little brother laugh

And when big brother feels in control, you might get a good ol genuine smile

When you tell a boy to smile, it might involve a wresting move.

But, as long as no one complains you snap away

and capture a little moment in time.

It is a favorite to watch out boys play at JBA.

This year Joe had a game in the big gym, a big treat for the Junior High Team! 

 They are a fun team to watch, lots of hustle and desire. They won a lot of games this year! 

And Sam had all of his home Freshman games at JBA.  His team won all their games this year. 

Joe and Jaelyn might have spent one whole night arguing in the lobby of the gym.  

Sam also dressed several JV games at the end of the year.  It was fun seeing him play in several of the games. He played most of the Shoals game.  It's still shocking to see the crowd size in some of these pics.  Reminder of the rules that we endured for COVID. Even though we went right thru it and made it work for the time we were living the reminders are evident when you look back on pictures.
