Last week of school 2nd and 4th!

Bear with me as we rewind to the last week of school!
I had it queued up in my phone, but it didn't upload (winky face)
too important to skip it!
Monday morning we had 3 days to go...in the home stretch.
The boys were ready for school because it was field day!
They had some exciting things to look forward to...
Joe had bouncy houses and Sam had relay races on the track and a whiffle ball tourney.
Best part? Grandma Jean was signed up to help with Sam's grade!
She said she had a great time, too!

We also had games baseball games every night this week -sometimes two games.

And Tuesday morning, we were all in for a giant surprise
...the principal
dressed up on the roof!?!
The students had met their A/R reading goal, she promised to dress up like Effie Trinket from
Hunger Games, and she delivered in a big way!
What a great way to keep a promise.
She has brought some great energy and programs to the school, we are very thankful for her!

And, finally, the last day of school!
I traded work shifts so I could be at the boys' award programs,
another first for elementary school!
But, first, last day of school breakfast!
Today was crescent rolls and bananas.
Sam's last day at Elementary School,
he moves to Intermediate School next year, actually connected
to the High School...be still mama heart.
He says he is ready. I'll be confident for him, too!

Joe's plate said, moving on down to the basement!
3rd and 4th grade are downstairs at the elementary!

From 1st to last day of 2nd and 4th grade!

And onto awards ceremony, Grandma Jean and I were there!
Joe was up first K-2.
Joe received High Honor Roll and Student of the Month (Enthusiasm)!

Waiting on Sam's turn, I found our Senior Band Award {DH and I were both in band}

And it was 3rd/4th grade's turn.

Sam received Spellbowl, Student of the Month (Fitness/Skill), Outstanding Attendance,
and Honors all years of Elementary!

And Cousin Drew got several awards, too
including
Citizenship Award!!! Givin to 1 girl and 1 boy in the 4th grade class...
way to go big Drew!
Last day of school at Loogootee Elementary West.
He was able to leave with me after his program.
Thought we would eat lunch before I headed to work,
but friends came along and he went home with them instead!
Joe stayed at school because his teacher was giving away things from the classroom, tee hee.

Sam had such a good year, things really clicked for him this year.
His grades came much easier this year,
Mrs. Jones said he matured this year, and I agree, but I also
think she really brought the best out in him!
We received some very nice compliments of Joe man, from Mrs. Smith
I didn't take time to take a pic of his grade card {All A's}
If we all approached life/assignments/friends like Joe
the world would be a better place.

So proud of our boys.

First day of Summer

A quick lego project that arrived after the last day of school...perfect!
( I bought if from Amazon on deep, deep discount against my better judgement
because it came in a purple box...but the contents were very boylike
a hot air balloon and park stuff}anywho Sam was all no way,
but about 2 minutes into Joe's construction, he was helping!

First day of Summer
Doesn't seem as significant
as it will
in a few years.
They played animals.
I have never heard such creativity
as when they play animals.
They designed new houses for them today.
Let them be young.

Bomber Champs!

I started very.slow.today.
I thought I would be on the struggle bus for this game.
But, DH was farming and he also isn't feeling the best..
so time to be a mama!
We stopped and got some food
(not Whole 30, needed carbs and sprite..excuse me while a cheat a bit,
meat and veges were not going to do it this morning,ha)
And as the day went on, I FELT BETTER, sweet!
At one point, I texted Dan and said
I could not tell if it was hot or I had a fever
and he said it is hot and you have a fever, ha.

This was a pick up tourney, the one we were to play in was
cancelled. So there were 2 teams, but our boys won both games,
played very good today.
We played our 7U team in the second game, uniforms were the same,ha!

My catcher, he threw a batter out at first today, proud of that!

Sam was really proud of Joe today, he wanted to go on the field for pictures
and he took these...haha.  I'm teaching him right.

With Coach Schoonover, he is learning a lot from him!
And a mama found these trophies in the closet at her work..so we came home with hardware.

2016 Graduate

Last Sunday we celebrated our 2016 Graduate, Cole!
He is with his best buddy Jake in this picture.
I stayed home from Joe's tournament to make sure
we could celebrate with him...
am I ever glad I did...I was super sick with strep or a virus
yesterday and did not move but from bed to couch. Which meant
I was not able to go to his ceremony last night, I was so feverish, boo.
Joe ate muffins for breakfast and lunch (mom fail)..
anyway we all survived and we are back on track today!
Cole's senior board, complete with camo stripes!
And a tool box for cards, this is so COLE.

The sibs. Love them!
Proud of you Cole William.

3rd grade Wax Museum!

3rd grade wax museum @ Loogootee Elementary!
This was by far one of my favorite things during Elementary school!
These kids did so very good!
They all chose 3 picks who they would like to portray
chossing from famous peoply with ties to Indiana.
Sam chose Larry Bird, Eli Lilly or John Wooden
and
he was given John Wooden.
He did research on him and wrote a paragraph of 5 or 6 sentences.
He memorized the paragraph, chose his costume and his wax museum "pose".
They had red circle on the floor in front of them for their buttons.
They were to remain quiet until their button was tapped on,
it was very professional!

Isaac was Oscar Robinson, his wig (the best)

John Wooden was most famous as coach for UCLA,
not sure what happened with Sam's tie.
They all got dressed themselves and I thinke he thought
it was right?
We parents decided it was during an intense game, looked about right...LOL.

Luke was Larry Bird, he wore Sam's jersery..
did a great job!

Cousin Drew was Colonel Sanders, KFC chicken
His costume was on point, way to go Grandma Janice

Reis, Another Oscar Robinson!

Connor, KFC man!  These were in different homerooms...

Leighton as Oscar

And Brandon as Tommy John!!

DH and I really enjoyed this assignment for the kids, as they did too!
It showed their individual personalities, they were all very impressive!
