Around Pinecraft

Pinecraft is a charming little neighborhood tucked away in the middle of Sarasota Florida. It’s small houses situated near each other and most have 1 or 2 apartments to house more guests! It’s full of Amish and Mennonite folks from all over the nation. And this isn’t a requirement but it seems to be the rule and  prices keep people without a strong draw away. It’s safe and quaint and quiet - and it’s near the beach!! 

The original Big Olaf is in Pinecraft and it’s worth the walk! 

There is time for games - it’s a bit odd how short the days are - when it’s warm outside it feels like it should stay light forever - but it gets dark around 6. 

There was time for a couple rounds of golf!

And time for bike rides - lots of them. 

Sam took this pic-Dan took him to get a new golf club as part of his Christmas!

Chilly Sunshine ☀️

Grandma Shannon and I took the grands to the beach to soak up a little sunshine 🌞. It was chilly but once we were walking it was comfortable. 

 The clouds against the sand and surf were stunning. 

The salty sea air was just what we needed after our drive south! 

We collected a whole bucket of treasures. Interestingly Sam picked up every. single. shell - they were important enough to keep. Joe was more selective and kept only the pristine ones. Probably the opposite of  what I expected.

Pinecraft • Sarasota

 

That first glance of the sea after an absence is a cherished one 🌊. 

 We woke up to sunshine but chilly weather and rain was in the forecast. We decided on Yoder’s - our favorite pinecraft breakfast place. 

We passed the buses that transport all the Amish that come from all over to stay for the week. There were 8 buses in this lot. 

We stayed in this house perfect for our family!

Joe took a pic of his cinnamon roll- this place is a favorite for him! 

  

Sam did some of this - his absolute favorite teen thing to do....

And a game Of marbles - big hit this week.
