Flat Head

Cooler weather {80s instead of 90s +} meant an evening spent outside.
I love summer fun.
Sidewalk Chalk is no exception.
I will spare you my final drawing, I chose to think the middle
was a little out of proportion {tee hee}
but Joe is finishing up my flat head here.
DH says I have a hard head, didn't know it was so flat.
And then we spent the rest of the evening
yelling daddy as he mowed across the ditch.
It is the little things.

And I waiting until these sweet honies
from Aunt Darla get ripe and I can taste them
Asian Pears.

Back to Big School

Today it is back to school for the big kids.
Not mine yet, but it will change our routine...
I cherish the times when my phone rings
and one or all of the nieces and nephews want to come over
It makes my days off full and oh so worth it.
We will still have time for this on the weekends...
And this won't ever end, as long as there are boys in the house
But I'm afraid ice cream won't taste quite a sweet
And we will have to trade silly bands around the campfire
instead of by the pool.
Good luck to all my favorite people as you start school today
{and tomorrow...Dryce}
Happy Birthday ML!

And the crib came down.

This week, the crib came down.
The crib we had not used for a year.
The one that had become a storage space.
It needed to come down.
But I kept remembering that it was my babes'

They had put their very own mark on it.
It is where I got this great shot of Sam for our 1st Christmas card.
And where Joe took his 1st nap after coming home from Guatemala
But you see, we needed to make room for these
That many books you say, maybe I should get rid of a few.
Not gonna happen...I will just get a bigger shelf!
I will part with toys, but not books.
I love them and so do my boys
So we made a new space for them
And we loaded the shelf one by one.
And when we were done
Sam said.  Mom, thanks for my new libary.
I really lub it.
