The Power Outage During Quarantine

And if the quarantine would not be enough...
there was the severe storm straight line winds storm Wednesday night
around 930 - there had been thunderstorms predicted and we were undering warning.
Dan got home around 915 and was in the shower...the winds really picked up
and we headed downstairs. He couldn't believe we left him upstairs - he later
told me as he was looking out on the front porch (insert eyeroll emoji).
We did not have much damage aside from deadish trees blowing over
and limbs everywhere and the power went out.
It would be a 24 hour power outage, but we were not aware of that at the time!

Before bed, the boys played a round of Otrio by phone light.

And I got ready by phone light and headed into work figuring I'd grab coffee
there when the power came back on...at 9:30 Dan arrived with a temporary generator (we thought)
to save the refrigerator drugs, thank goodness he filled it up with gas.

So my savior came in the fashion of Joe rigging up my Keurig for coffee - best coffee ever.
Seriously, the closet coffee would have been 7 miles in either direction Shoals or Montgomery.
Everyone else Grandma and the farm was out of power too.

Grandma's house and the farm had damage like this.

We waited out the storm at work. We cleaned and answered the drive thru
for a very select few patients (they were all out of power too) and talked over options with the bosses.
We took care of oxygen patients who needed an emergency supply, we got lunch
and sat and ate it together - THAT NEVER HAPPENS!
And then at 2pm when this was posted and the earliest prediction of restored power was 6pm,
we called it.  We closed for the day around 230 and Allison and I packed up the drugs
and drove them to Washington for storage for the night.

Oh and this posted picture got nice comments, I didn't have the heart to tell everyone the photo
was from 10 years ago. Maybe they will forget about that picture when they all see me after quarantine again!?!

After we secrured the drugs DH moved this generator to our house to save our
fridge and freezer items.

It had gotten chilly so we lit our gas fireplace

And then at 830 we got word that power was back on in town - sure enough it was.
I went in to process the day's work to be ready for fill on Friday.
Joe came along to make an Easter Egg Hunt for the staff for Good Friday!
I checked the fridge temp to make sure it was good before I left for the night.
Dan called us at 930 and said our power was back on at home.
On Friday morning, Joe and I went down and got the drugs to bring back to work
by 8 - I rewarded him with DQ B&G for working late getting up early!
So thankful for the power company workers (linemen, but I'm guessing there were women working someone too either front lines or behind the scenes).

Back home the boys asked to make the Walker littles a fun hunt so we made them some eggs

And Allison called us from home trying to bribe us to tell here where the prize egg was...
they looked ALL day and finally at 630pm Tony found it. It was in the pharmacy all along - she could not believe it!  She was fired up. Fun memories.

This power outage during quarantine was one to remember.
