Selfless Service Feet

Today our Sunday School class enjoyed a great lesson.

We reviewed John and scripture about Jesus washing his disciples feet. 

This is familiar at our church as we still choose to participate in feet washing during our communion service twice a year...but this lesson did a great job explain this to the kids!

We reviewed how Jesus was a servant even though he was a leader...

We took off our shoes and traced them on a paper, decorated our shapes

and chose something we would do to serve another.

It is spring break week and most are somewhere fun, so I had 3 different ages and  this was a great activity for grades 3-5.

We enjoyed our lesson from the book of John and then ended with a relay about selfless acts - I put it to a timer, that is always a hit with kiddos!

9U Bombers

Joe is playing baseball for the Bases Loaded Bombers again this year.

They have been working together all winter practicing 1-2 times a week,

DH is helping coach.

We have not received one complaint about heading to practice every week.

He loves this sport. 

The seasonal officially started last weekend in Clarksville.

And these bomber boys were off to a great start.

Sunday between games Joe let me snap this picture of him,

his teammates were having fun with eye black.

They didn't realize they had made themselves look like kitty cats.

Back to Saturday afternoon, first game...he was pumped up and ready to play.

First at bat of the season.

Love him.

He works very hard at baseball, constantly running over plays/situations with dad.

And they won -grabbing the lead after being down 8-1,

the fans were proud!

Game two was at 6pm, I haven't mentioned just how cold this tournament was...

frigid.

It was 40s and windy, Sam braved the first game snuggled by me, sat in the van for second game.

We had a great hotel near the park and enjoyed some time at a couple stores in the area.

It made a great family weekend.

DH is a loyal coach, keeping book and line up and encouraging boys from the dugout.

We were back at the field on Sunday morning at 8am.

There was frost on the fields and our breath floated in front of us as we cheered on our team.

They won the first game which landed them in the semi finals at 4pm.

And they fell in the semi finals...look at this score.

Ugh!

They worked so hard and everyone was so proud!

This team has so much promise.

Looking forward to the season!

Basketball Sectional Champs!

Growing up in a basketball town means tournament time is important.

Our Loogootee Lions won the sectional title on Saturday night.

They came from deep in the bracket beating Rivet, North Daviess and Shoals for the title.

Best part for me now is watching our boys celebrate with their school.

Sam is on the edge of this photo on left.

Final few seconds of the game Sam and his friends sat right on the floor and you can see the excitement in their faces.  Nephew Drew is in the bright yellow shirt.

Their favorite part is grabbing a piece of net, Joe is right under the ladder.

Joe shared a piece with his friend Evan, they were excited.

And this boy didn't miss his chance at a piece of net either, he snagged one!

It is on to regional tournament time!  Let's hope for a big W!
