An update on the 'Not So Pretty But Oh So Very Functional' Chore System...
I do an update because it is SO EFFECTIVE.
It is effective because:
1. If I find we don't use a chore paper we replace it with one we will use.
(ie During baseball season and late nights that mom works, its quick meals or crockpot so helping with dinner is nearly non existent, ha, keeping it real)
2. It is visual - can't miss these janky paper on the front of the fridge
3. It's a tangible reward at the time - sign paper and put in mom's bowl -and monetary weekly
4. Mom's choice has been ahamazing!
5. We do not have enough mega chores to keep them satisfied - that $5 mark keeps them interested!!!
This boy earned his mega chore one day when he cleaned out my van
AND
washed it by hand in the driveway.
We also swept out the RedZilla - Sam's new name for DH's farm truck.
Joe has always been a smidge easier to motivate, but this has been excellent for Sam,

The Later On refers to a new "rule" DH has imposed - for whatever purchase they make they must add an equal amount to the bank. So it has required much planning on their part...hence the Later On!

It's a mini budget. I cannot.
His goal is $60 with an April/May Calendar planning what chores and when to get to the goal.
I would expect this from Joe, but Sam is not my planner...I could take some goal setting notes
from this guy!
We have also introduced our old money system back on writing our money in/money out down
so they can see where it goes. Taking it a step further, we remind them about their Sunday School Tithe. They sometimes moan and groan about all the rules (ha, life),
hoping they appreciate it someday....
