Quinn Scott

On January 5, Quinn Scott Callahan made her arrival.
And we were overjoyed that she was here safely and her mama was healthy
and her dad and brother were adjusting well, too!
P.S. Did I mention we found out that our family got another girl?
It had been 15 years since our family had seen a baby girl.
And while I LOVE my boys and would be broke if I had a girl of my own...I am willing to spoil!

Our first picture of Miss Quinn Scott was jsut like this (but in a text, ha)

We were able to go meet her after church on Sunday.
Dan was still sick with a cold so he skipped out
on the hospital visit.
We were happy to see big brother playing in the halls.

It didn't take us long to find our way to the girl with the big pink bow!
She is certainly beautiful and sweet and content with lots of dark hair
and we are still smitten to this day!

They were BOTH in love.
She is pretty hard to resist.

Aunt Mo and her girl!

We made her a Welcome Home sign and I had Allison snap a picture
glad we did she came home late that day and it was rainy windy and dark, ha!

And the designs began for a Onsie for her newborn pictures.
What a beautiful name.  It's a sweet sweet name!
We cannot wait to spoil her!

The week we were waiting.

Looking back to the week after New Years when our boys were still out of school!
I hadn't planned ahead so well for them to be out all week and for some
it's like a two week vacation but for this family its more of a lesson
in responsibility!
I did take a day off after Christmas to make a couple day stretch with the boys,
but the other week this mom had a lot of work days.
There is nothing worse than leaving home on a day you would love
to spend at home with the family!

We certainly made the most of it and looking back it was definitely the week we were waiting...

While we waited we found some time to play Life, have you played the new version of Life.
I like our 80 version of Life better, but I took the liberty to ask a couple of sly mom questions
(that generally get me the eye roll) about my kids' dreams for their own life as we progressed thru the game. And it makes you do silly things that made us laugh and I got big teenage smiles.
That was priceless.

And we played Phase 10 a card game I loved as a younger one.
I had my cards but no directions, we had to google the directions, ha!
They loved it  - and I won.
Oh and Joe lived in his one piece PJ all break long.  Love.

And while we waited...

Joe invited his friend Evan over for  day of fun. These two stay very busy.
Like they don't sit and play video games and they enjoy being entertained.

They asked for a craft for which I was NOT prepared but a Pinterest search later
we were making these ping pong ball launchers.
They were old enough to do their own cutting but not many pics cause we
were using a knife, ha!

We launched them at our handy targets.

And then while we waited we went to see this big boy
who was getting a very special title that day....

Love.

About to reveal his title...

Graham was about to become a big brother!

He was having a great day with his Nana and Papaw.
He was all about the attention.

Little did we know we were soaking up the last little bit
of this guy's babyness, ha!  The very next day he seemed like a big boy!
(We all still know he just a babe)

And then He was off with Nana and Papaw to meet his new sibling,
who had just made their arrival.

And then we waited.
We knew the baby was here.
We couldn't wait to fine out if we had a boy or a girl.
So we prayed while we waited!

Just Pizza and Ice Cream - And a little Basketball

Sam asked to have his friends over to celebrate his birthday.
No cake, no presents - just pizza and ice cream.
December 30. It was not shorts weather, it doesn't matter to them.
This photo makes my heart sing.
If you give this group anything that resembles an area to play basketball at anytime of the year
This.
Look at their faces.
This is their joy.
They love being together and I'm sure talking a "little trash".

I noticed the game was even good enough that the phones found a spot either inside on the counter
or outside. That's a win!

And pizza chips pop and ice cream bars rounded out the preferred teen boys options.

We took an additional TV downstairs for the boys to play classic Nintendo along
with Playstation.  But, several of them played a rousing tournament of ping pong.

I had no idea how a house full of 13 year old boys would make my heart sing.
But, it certainly does.  Love these boys like my own!
Suffice it to say they can make a mess.
But, I worked the next day and Sam did a very good job cleaning it all up.
I'm sure he didn't want to risk not having the option of a repeat, ha!

His next day list.  He does plan sometimes.
His brother, everyday.
But, here is the evidence...Sam does too!
