Helga and Hilga give GRACE

The group was back together again this year for a funny skit at church.
This group of ladies was like meeting for therapy each week while we practiced our parts in the skit.
Not one of us (well maybe SIL Shannon) signed up to act for a living,
but we all come with willing spirits
and
this year was as fun and meaningful as ever.

The theme of the women's conference at church this year was GRACE.
What a powerful word and the conference was full of stories of grace,
we provided a comic relief about grace.
Our friend Denise (Franny) was put in the Cannelburg jail
and we all come to help her in her time of need.
I played Helga
My memorable lines included a serious prayer for Franny in which I prayed
We know,Lord, that Franny didn't mean to break the law...
and Shannon(Hilga) buts in with Yes, Lord, at least not today.

And my favorite line...
Hold onto your bloomers and run!
I always end up with a southern drawl
what a hoot we had with this group!

I was also asked to do opening prayer (before I was in costume, wink)

The Friday night run thru

And conference day, opening praise
Helga's dressing room, we are fancy.

Gorgeous Fall

It has been a GORGEOUS fall.
Last Thursday was no exception.  Weather forecasts called for a change
so I got out the bike a took a short ride and picked up the mail on the way back.

So, so true.  Love these little reminders

And it was a full moon, so the claims of the brooms standing were everywhere on Facebook.
I knew Joe would eat that up and did he ever.  I know its a hoax
but it was fun nonetheless.  And an old wives tale never hurts!

And when mom is at work...
her kids will get on the roof
and send her a picture
because the situation is our of her control!

And, DH will also send you this.

Fall days beautiful for a little pitching practice

In front of the high school, senior board pic.

Poor Joe after a big cheek (dental work)

Baller for days.

And a little dreary news after years of my Crohn's disease being in remission.
I was diagnosed in 1992 and had major colon surgery in 1998 just after mom died,
I have been faithful on my colonoscopy screening for several years
but this year evidence of disease progression has shown up
and my doc is recommending treatment.  Much to think and pray about.
I am thankful for the years that my Crohn's has been manageable with minimal medication.
We will put much research, thought and prayer into our next steps.
I certainly trust fully in the path God will lead us on!

5th grade league champs

Sam's 5th grade basketball team finished their fall league on top!
They played a lot of 6th grade teams throughout the season and beat a 5th grade team
for the tourney win.
This group of boys is very fun to watch.
They play with a lot of heart and know each others moves well.
10 great kids

Something about these old gym photos.
Jaelyn and Joe shooting around during 1/2 time

Now it is on to the 5th grade school season
And then it was Joe's turn.  Discussing the plan with buddy Mason

He shoots and scores!  Go Joe.
He made a free throw.
His team lost in the tourney but they played with a lot of heart.  He has continued to practice
and will play in a couple tourneys this year.

Forever buddies.
