Ups and Downs in a Week!

I had the honor of taking Joe on a lunch date last week.
I got a extra special glimpse of my guy this day.
He is creating a board game
and
he wants my help.
We talked about the theme and the design
and the rules and boy does this boy have an imagination
and great ideas.
And mama had a coupon for a free dessert so we packed it to go
for a couple bites before heading back into school (and then a great
after school snack).

We stopped to get our Graham fix after school that day.
These boys LOVE their Graham.
They fight over him and argue over who Graham likes more!

Look at that smile on Sam's face.

We had fun watching Graham in his bumbo seat!

And that night we headed to the first sectional game
for to cheer on our favorite high school team.
The cheerblock theme was USA -
the Lion Loud Crowd did not disappoint
and our Lions beat the Rivet Patriots.

We spent a great Saturday together in Evansville as a family.
DH found a small par 3 course to hit a few shots with Sam.
They let Sam play for free so they played a round of golf for $10.
It was the first glimpse of spring and that is oh so welcome!
Joe and I did some shopping for his game supplies at Joann's
and shoes for mom at Shoe Carnival. We had lunch
and made a trip around Sam's club for some staples for home!

And that night we headed back to Jack Butcher Arena
to cheer on the Lions against our rival Barr_Reeve.
What an awesome environment - the gym near capacity
for the local rivals to face off.
The boys from both sides played their tails off
and the atmosphere did not disappoint.
But, alas, our team did not win.  Loosing in last minute fashion
as seems to be the draw in Hoosier Basketball - it came down to the last seconds!

This was during half time and the kids had their phones out swaying like they were at a concert.
Love love love their clean fun and school spirit!
Our J is right in the middle with her freshmen friends!

We turned our attention to the promise of spring
and the baseball games to come!

And on Monday night we enjoyed a 6th grade band concert.
I truly enjoy listening to the group improve - and it is astouding
to hear the difference from the first concert.
They know 8 notes and can now play them in 1/8 time
and they played some recognizable  songs.
Sam is the only Tenor Sax player and he really enjoys it.
It has taught him responsibility in remembering his instrument
and confidence in learning a new skill.
Plus, everyone needs to appreciate how music comes together!

Our newphew Drew also plays in band - on the right playing trumpet.
