North West Adventure || Deception Pass

On Saturday (Day 2) we spent time on Whidbey Island.
Beginning (and ending at Deception Pass), a narrow passage way that leads to the rest of the Island.
It was a very scenic day surrounded by views at every turn.

We stopped just after we crossed over to the Island
and loved the steep park area that surrounded Deception Pass.

The passage is narrow and boats line up to make the pass. If the tides/currents are not right
they cannot make it thru.

And the bridge was SUPER narrow, like keep your arms at your side at all times.  It felt like the entire thing moved when semis crossed.

So so worth it

We headed down the steep hill to enjoy the view from the bottom up
- the invigorating part was the climb back up!

The shores were all dark sand and very rocky and FRIGID water.
I couldn't resist getting my feet in several times but a swim was out of the question.

Sam climbed to the very top - you can spot him if you look close - and then he climbed back down.
No broken bones, victory.
