Literally with a few minutes of arriving on Friday morning these kids had made up for all lost time.
We were welcomed with a Nerf gun war.
This meant we felt right at home.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch where Joe discovered pita bread.
We have added pita bread to our grocery list now.
And then we headed to see Mark at one of his fish shops in Blaine, Washington.
What a quaint bayside border (to Canada) town. We were rewarded with these views.
Standing in Mark's fish shop looking over into the adjoining Oyster Bar.
These two also reconnected and couldn't get done talking!
Mark ordered us a sampler and we tried our first Oysters ever.
I have a feeling we were quite spoiled and won't find any to measure up again.
These oysters are grown locally by a Father/Son team right out in the bay in the inlet on the left of the picture above. They take 3-5 years to mature, I had no idea!
We watched the guy at the bar open them for preparation.
We all enjoyed them, well except Joe.
But, we all tried them - it was a great treat.
Ha ha Joe's face.
What a neat little bay city. And it was topped off with the best dairy ever...
I also had an awesome time all week reconnecting with my friend Nicole.
