We woke up to sunny skies and beachy waves
the morning after school was out.
It was a particularly welcome sight this year!
It was not an uneventful ride - DH was not feeling well
and slept while I drove some- we had heavy traffic and a couple of delays and we
left at the very end of school (years past we had skipped out a bit early but alas FINALS).
It was a trip that was always on but we did not know who was going -
DH decided the very last day to go with us.
The forecast was for rain in Indiana which would prevent planting.
Typically on this trip, the spring planting is complete.
I had bit of extra time to wake up because my crew was still sleeping.
My plan always involves being up early then relaxing beach side!
Wasn't long and Joe was up and ready for our morning walk.
We always trek to the pier ( a little farther) and then back.
We spied the chairs we would claim on our way back.
We sent a photo of our new bathroom tile floors to our friends
And our new dining room table - serious love here.
It is such an improvement on our last table.
I enjoy the blooming flowers every year.
Serious relaxation mode - and a bit of real life.
All of us back outside to take in the sand and sea.
Sam has developed and interest in cards - he has a deck with him a lot right now?!?
I taught him a simple 4 card version of solitaire that an aunt taught me - I'm thinking maybe Aunt Peggy. It worked great for the beach because it is played in your hand and not spread out.
He played it all week long.
My cool cucumber and his beach seat.
We all spent a lot of time in the water this trip. The waves were strong.
Few pics but big memories.
We caught our favorite Floyd's for dinner.
Sam ordered the all you can eat shrimp for the first time.
He put them all the way down into each of his legs.
He got us our money's worth. $$
And we wrapped up with family game night - Play Nine.
A strategy golf game.
